Engelse Delftse Bij

The charcoal glaze gives these tiles a subtle depth that photos don’t capture—the birds almost look like they’re about to take flight. I’ve already got three up in the hallway and keep catching myself staring at the brushwork instead of walking past.

The little bee motif in Charcoal caught my eye immediately, and up close the brushwork on the buildings feels genuinely personal, not mass-produced. It’s the kind of tile that makes a plain kitchen backsplash look like a gallery wall, and I keep finding new details each time I walk past.

I was thrilled to see how the hand-painted charcoal bird on this tile catches the light—it feels like a tiny piece of art. The blue details bring a calm, old-world charm to my kitchen backsplash that I didn’t expect from just one tile.
